| Panel preparation meetings - Matt Ostler - 22/1/2009

The governors convened tonight to prepare key issues that would be presented to the visiting panel due to be at the school within the next couple of weeks. Lots of areas were identified as key links to support the councils proposal that Nettlestone continues and develops as a full primary school for the East Wight area. The next stage is to work out how best to present these. This will be done throughout the course of the week 26th to 30th January.
There will be parents meeting on Monday the 26th January at the school in order to do the same exercise but from a parental perspective...

| Schools reorganisation parents evening - Matt Ostler - 14/1/2009

On January the 8th around 30 parents attended a meeting with the Head teacher, the governors and Keith Simmonds, a senior officer for the council involved in the schools reorganisation. There was plenty postive, energetic and intense discussion based around some probing and insightful questions from the parents present.
A clear understanding was established that the position of the council has not changed in the sense that it is the original reccomendations that it is presenting to the independant panel. These reccomendations were for Nettlestone Primary to remain open and become...

| Schools Reform Meeting - Matt Ostler - 16/12/2008

| The Head and The Governors will be holding an evening in early January geared around talks and questions to help spread information and understanding. Keith Simmonds, a senior council officer will also be present to take any questions. This is in advance of the Independant review panel coming to the island and is seen as a key opportunity for parents, guardians, stakeholders, staff and governors to align their thinking and approach in prepartion for the panel's visit.
