Admissions

Admissions follow the agreed County Policy on admissions.

Parents of 4 year old children (i.e. those who become 4 years of age between 1 September 2008 and 31 August 2009) may enrol their children in Island primary schools for the start of the school year in September 2009.

We are happy to discuss educational arrangements with parents who wish their 4 year old children to enter school in September, although applications to join our school have to be made through the Local Education Authority. Further information concerning admissions can be found in the authorities' booklet entitled, Educating Your Child - Information for Parents a copy of which can be seen in the school office or is available on request from County Hall.

The Reception Class teacher will also visit the nurseries that children starting school attend. Children are invited into school on a number of occasions prior to admission. Good links exist between our school and local playgroups.

An independent nursery is operated on the school premises by Chatterbox Nursery (Tel 616070).
