Transport arrangements

Pupils coming from Ryde may take advantage of the bus provided by the school. A charge of £6 per school week per child will be made for all pupils requiring transport to and from Ryde to Nettlestone., and £3 per school week for children who join the bus in Seaview. This charge has had to be planned in the light of the continuing difficulties regarding funding made to schools. In the event of any pupil not being met by the designated adult at the agreed drop-off point, the pupil will be brought back to school via the coach and the cost of the journey billed to the pupil's parent/guardian. Further details regarding pick-up points, times etc. are provided by the Reception class teacher prior to your child starting school. All other parents can obtain further details from the school secretary. At present the school uses the services of Diamond Cars.

All other parents can obtain further details from the school secretary.

SCHOOL COACH- PARENTAL REPLY SLIP & AGREEMENT
SCHOOL POLICY FOR THE SCHOOL COACH'S ARRANGEMENTS TO AND FROM RYDE

Date, September 2002, to be reviewed September 2003

1. The current charge for this service is £6 per week.
2. Children are expected to behave in an appropriate manner and observe safety procedures whilst travelling on the coach. The school reserves the right to withdraw this service from any pupil endangering his/her safety, or that of others, through inappropriate behaviour.
3. Parents / guardians wishing to avail themselves of the service should complete and sign the slip below. This will signify that they agree to this policy and its implementation, and to make the weekly payment for the place on the coach. Payments should be made in advance, on the Monday, in an envelope with the child's name clearly indicated and marked "coach money". If space is available, a place will then be reserved for the child/ren named. Spaces will be allocated on a first come, first served basis, unless affected by circumstances outlined in 9. below.
4. Should any payment be over a fortnight late, the school will invoice the parent for the outstanding amount. The accompanying letter will invite the parent/guardian to either pay the invoice or meet with the head-teacher to discuss the matter.
5. If no payment is made following the invoice, parents will be asked to meet with the Head-teacher at a mutually convenient time to try and resolve the matter.
6. If there is no resolution of the problem following the meeting then the school reserves the right to withdraw the child's place on the coach service.
7. Should a pupil who normally uses the bus be absent due to illness for a whole week, then there would be no charge to the parents for that particular week.
8. Should a pupil who normally uses the bus be absent due to illness for part of a week, then the full weekly charge is payable by parents for that week.
9. Parents wishing their child to make use of the coach for part of the week may do so, providing they are willing to pay the £6 flat rate each week.
10 The school is not in a position to offer any discount to families having two or more siblings using the coach service.
